Welcome to the Kennesaw State University TRIO Programs website! KSU TRIO Programs are a part of a federally funded, grant-awarded system that works with local high-schools to provide qualifying students with free services designed to help them achieve successful entry into college, the workplace, and beyond. KSU TRIO’s main goal is to make sure that TRIO families have everything they need in order to succeed and positively impact our community. Our current grants are Upward Bound at Rockmart and Cedartown High Schools, Upward Bound Math-Science at East Paulding High School, and Upward Bound at Hiram High School.
KSU TRIO takes our students on educational field trips, provides free tutoring and counseling which includes our financial aid literacy workshops that helped our Class of 2019 accept over $448,073 in financial aid, offers camps such as our FAA Drone Program, and improves students’ soft skills and work ethic for future professional workplaces upon completion of a college degree. By offering these services at no cost to our students, we hope to remedy the disproportional lack of representation many families face in collegiate environments. 91.2% of KSU TRIO students will be first-generation college students. While access to the features of our program is just one piece of the puzzle that bars many families from equitable representation in colleges, KSU TRIO is using our platform to help students overcome all the barriers preventing their success.
On our website, you can find information about our individual grants, documents for our participants, our upcoming events, and more. And make sure to check out our Community Partners page to see our Sponsors and find out ways that you can support our program! Feel free to contact Kennesaw State University TRIO Programs office if you have any questions about our program. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
